Mirsarai 300 MW (BSRM) Coal Power Plant

Mirsarai 300 MW Coal Power Plant, also known as BSRM Coal Power Plant, is a canceled supercritical thermal power plant was to be situated in Mirsarai Industrial Zone under Mirsarai Upazila in Chattogram District of Bangladesh (Location: 22.7422, 91.4710) approx. It was proposed by Bangladesh Steel Re-rolling Mills Limited (BSRM), a subsidiary of BSRM Group, to install and operate as a private Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 25 years. As per plan, the power plant was to start commercial operation in 2025. But no progress was seen by 2018 when the Government of Bangladesh (GOB) declared not to build anymore coal power plants in the country.


Capacity

The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant was 300 MW and 282 MW respectively
