Current Status: Operation
Shikalbaha 210 MW Dual Fuel Power Plant (Unit 1-2), also known as Shikalbaha GT Power Station or Shikalbaha Peaking Power Plant, is a Gas Turbine (GT) power plant situated at Shikalbaha under Karnaphuli Upazila in Chattogram District of Bangladesh (Location: 22.3256, 91.8678). It is sponsored by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as a State-owned Power Plant (SOPP) for 25 years. The first unit of 60 MW started commercial operation on 24 April 1984, while the second unit on 18 August 2010. As per schedule, the first unit retired on 23 April 2009 and the second will retire on 17 August 2035.
Capacity
The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 210 MW and 150 MW respectively.
