Current Status: Operation

Sirajganj 225 MW Dual Fuel Power Plant (Unit-3), also known as Sirajganj Unit-3 CC Power Plant or NWPGCL Sirajganj PP-3, is a Combined Cycle (CC) power plant situated at Soydabad Union under Sirajganj Sadar Upazila in Sirajganj District of Bangladesh (Location: 24.3889, 89.7453). It is sponsored by North-West Power Generation Company Limited (NWPGCL), a State-owned Enterprise (SOE) under Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), as a publicly owned Independent Power Producer (IPP) for 22 years. The first unit (141 MW) of the power plant started commercial operation on 9 August 2018 while the second unit (79 MW) on 20 January 2019. As per schedule, the units will retire on 8 August 2040 and 19 January 2041 respectively.


Capacity

The installed (gross) and derated (net) capacity of the power plant is 231 MW and 220 MW respectively.
